For more than 40 years, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) has offered dependable dental plans and currently serves almost 1.5 million dental members. To make the most of your benefits, you and your covered family members each need to choose a primary care dentist from the BlueCare Dental HMO network. This dentist will give you a referral if you need specialty care.
Dentists who are contracted to participate in the BlueCare Dental HMO network have agreed to accept set fees for covered services. Most preventive dental services are covered at 100%. For more information about your dental benefits, refer to your benefit booklet.
Finding a Dentist Is Easy
With one of the largest dental HMO networks in Illinois, BlueCare Dental HMO offers you flexibility in choosing a dentist that maximizes your benefits.
To find a primary care dentist, go to bcbsil.com and use the Provider Finder® tool by clicking on Find Care and then on Find a Dentist. Please select BlueCare Dental HMO. You will be able to search for a dentist by name or location, once you make your selection and populate required fields, select SEIU as your Employer Group.
You can also call Customer Service at 866-431-1594 to get help finding a dentist.
To change your primary care dentist, just call Customer Service by the 20th of the month. The change will be effective the first day of the next month.
